Met goedkeuring van bedrijfsarts mag ik meer uren werken.Beginnen met 3x3 uur per week en zelf de uitbreiding bepalen.Dat is tot 1 oktober max 4x4 uur.Me vader is gelukkig de 2e kuur stuk beter doorgekomen.A.s. woensdag weer een petscan en week later bloedprikken en de uitslag van de scan,spannend weer....

29 augustus tweede chemo

Een tijdje geleden dat ik iets schreef...

Vandaag heeft mijn mama haar tweede chemo gehad. Ik kon er spijtig genoeg niet bij zijn want ik had zitdag en personeelsvergadering. Mijn vader is mee gegaan en Rosemie om mij mama wat gezelschap te houden.

Haar haar begint nu serieus uit te vallen maar ik vond dat ze er in haar gezicht echt goed uit zag. Voller en energieker.

Ik ben super tevreden met mijn uurrooster. Wel heeft mijn mama moeten doorgeven dat chemo op donderdag niet meer kan want ik moet dit jaar wel op donderdag wel werken. Maar ik ben op dinsdag, woensdag en vrijdag namiddag thuis. Dus dat is echt wel goed voor mij. Op die manier kan ik woensdag boodschappen gaan doen voor haar en vrijdagnamiddag haar ook gezelschap houden.

Ik zie het schooljaar volledig zitten en apprecieer enorm het medeleven van mijn collega's en directie.

Morgen bedrijfsarts

Vandaag in overleg met mijn afdelingshoofd besloten om vanaf volgende week 3x3 uur te proberen.Kijken wat de bedrijfsarts morgen zegt,want ik vind het nog weinig.Project Big Move zal nog wel even duren want ze mogen maar x aantal mensen per jaar behandelen.Morgen krijgt me vader zijn 2e kuur.Hij krijgt een andere kuur ivm bijwerkingen 1e kuur.Morgenaaf uit eten,nu kan het nog want Big Move duurt nog wel ff :-)

The day after!!! Paybacktime!

De nachtelijke krampen in voet/kuit gaan weer beginnen, heerlijk weer gebroken nachten, m'n tong is aan de zijkant kapot waardoor ik niet gewoon kon praten en er sjaggie door word..moet echt moeite doen normaal te reageren op mensen, want niemand kan er wat aan doen.
Gister toen ik uit bed kwam was het 1 grote puinhoop van het feestje...ben tot 's middags bezig geweest met Reiley samen om alle slingers etc..zowel voor,- als achtertuin en binnen te verwijderen...schoonmaken, alle stoelen/tafel weer terug bij de buren, alle lege flessen weggegooid, vaatwasser paar x in,-uit geruimd, wc's schoongemaakt etc....en dat allemaal onder het genot van die walgelijk vervelende mond/tong..en natuurlijk de moeheid van afgelopen drukke dagen, die mond...na 4 van zulke kuren..soms amper uit te houden..zonder overdrijven..is echt het allerergste qua bijwerking van die chemo.
Arend moest vandaag gewoon werken en die had het ook even gehad uit z'n werk..stemming was vanmiddag ook niet zo gezellig als gister hahaha...samen hebben we de bbq en gasfles nog ingeladen en teruggebracht..godzijdank hebben we eten gehad van Tante Lenie en Ome Leen & nog een heerlijke pan soep van Joke, die Henry kwam brengen!

Verder een relaxte avond gehad, ik word alleen helemaal gek van die tong..continu spoelen en zou het liefst niet meer praten..praten doet zo'n zeer..dat kan jeje niet indenken. Het is echt de zijkant die kapot is dus dat schuurt continu over m'n kiezen bij praten. Nooit wil ik dit meer voelen/meemaken...klinkt overdreven maar tis geen doen...mocht de nieuwe kuur dit weer als gevolg hebben, dan zorg ik echt dat er iets anders word gegeven, dit is echt de laatste keer dat ik dit meemaak..geloof me...moeheid/krampen/oogklachten/pijnlijke voeten kan ik hebben maar dit niet meer..ben er zo klaar mee! Hopelijk is het morgen beter!

Via deze blog wil ik weer iedereen bedanken voor de kaarten en berichtjes/mailtjes en de fles martini! Aankomend weekend weer 2 verjaardagen dus hoop klachtenvrij langs te komen!

Drukke week ondanks 4e chemo!

Wat een week zeg....
Verleden week dinsdag de 4e chemo gehad, Tamara wilde er graag een keer bij zijn, dat ging goed, ze vond het niet eng en we hebben zelfs nog gelachen, Arend had vrij genomen en is beneden blijven wachten want er mag er maar 1 bij aanwezig zijn.

In de 1e dagen na de chemo de voorbereidingen getroffen voor de verjaardagen, cadeautjes voor Dennis & het verjaardagscadeau voor Arend geregeld, slingers/balonnen, meeste boodschappen al gehaald voor de bbq, bakker/slager & bbq geregeld zodat we het een dinsdag zo af konden halen EN natuurlijk met de kinderen al de Abrahampop gemaakt.. maar waar moesten we die pop laten die paar dagen..dan maar bij Tamara onder het bed..wel gelachen met zo'n grote aangeklede pop..paste er net onder.
Vrijdag kwam m'n tante nog even langs om alvast Arend z'n cadeau te brengen..een nieuwe Senseo!

Zaterdag was de verjaardag van m'n tante, m'n mond,-keelklachten begonnen al op te spelen maar hup..aktie..niet zeuren..totdat ik een glas drinken kreeg en ik dacht dat het dubbeldrank was..pffffff...was dus echte jus orange...nog geen 10 minuten later kreeg ik tot 2x toe een spastische darmaanval..terwijl je op visite ben pfffffff...dom van mezelf...volgende keer maar weer gewoon water.
's Avonds hebben we met de oudste 2 kids een thriller gekeken, was leuk!

Tot weer de Zombie-zondag aanbrak.....zelfde verhaal als voorgaande..m'n keel/mond vol met schimmelinfectie, alleen maar moe..op de bank leggen, nadat ik mezelf gedwongen had te douchen, weer uitrusten, toen wilde ik even de was gaan doen...ik had 1 handdoek opgevouwen en een zwembroek...SO....1 uur lang heb ik op Dennis bed liggen slapen...niet gewoon meer hoor..amper kunnen slikken, beetje radeloos worden omdat je wilt dat het ophoud die mond,-keelklachten..en maar ijs en ijsblokjes eten, m'n voeten weer rood/pijnlijk en maar bang zijn dat ik de komende dagen zou verpesten door die K.Tklachten. Joke kwam ook nog even langs om alvast een appeltaart te brengen voor Arend z'n verjaardag, superlief!

Tot de maandag aanbrak..Arend 50!!! Was al vroeg m'n bed uitgegaan, even tijd voor mezelf...mond spoelen etc..zodat ik "fris en fruitig" met de kinderen z'n verjaardag in kon luiden....om 8.00 iedereen geroepen, pop buiten gezet, cadeautjes klaar, ontbijt op bed klaar (koffie en shag hahaha) en zingen maar met z'n allen aan bed! Helemaal leuk, ik had een trike gehuurd voor hem, dus helemaal happy was tie want dat wilde die graag nog een keer doen, dus hij ging snel douchen om daarna de trike op te halen! Ik had al tegen hem gezegd..ga alleen maar genieten vandaag je word maar 1x 50 tenslotte..ik regel de rest.......yep...stoere praat van mij..pffffffff..alles moest natuurlijk nog versierd worden omdat Dennis ook de volgende dag jarig was...nadat ik 1 slinger had opgehangen zag ik het al niet meer zitten..al die klachten speelde me echt parten en zodra ik die slingers en alles zag leggen was ik al moe..maar het moest!! Arend was zo happy dat ik het triest vond om erg sjaggie bij te gaan lopen, om de beurt nam tie 1 van de kids mee achterop de trike, die vonden het geweldig!!! Ik had wel eerlijk tegen de oudste 2 gezegd dat ze me echt moesten helpen want ik zag het echt niet meer zitten maar speelde toch een beetje toneel omdat ik niet deze dag wilde verzieken..pfffffffff wat kan een mens zich dubbel voelen zeg..niet toe willen geven aan klachten omdat er een verjaardag is die je niet wilt verzieken..en vooral omdat iedereen zo genoot van dat trike rijden etc..Arend die alleen maar even wat kwam drinken met een smile op z'n gezicht en hup weer rijden..heerlijk toch..echt genoten heefttie! Ik heb zelf ook nog even achterop gezeten..heerlijk!!!! De oudste 2 hebben me goed geholpen, voortuin netjes gemaakt, alles opgehangen, balonnen opgeblazen, pizzaboer besteld en daarna ging het licht even uit..even op de bank gelegen..Arend ging z'n laatste ritjes met de kids maken want 21.00 moest de trike weer terug zijn en ik ben toen nog de laatste boodschappen gaan halen voor de bbq....Daarvan teruggekomen dacht ik...ik ga echt even liggen nu..sloosh..maar toen kwamen Joke & Henry met de taarten, die zijn nog even gebleven en om 23.15 was het op (is voor mij normaal gesproken kinderbedtijd..) toen ben ik al naar bed gegaan.

Dinsdag! Dennis 7 jaar! Wederom vroeg m'n bed uit, zelfde verhaal als gister...Dennis vond het prachtig, wij allemaal zingen aan z'n bed, al die cadeautjes wat hij graag hebben wilde van z'n broer en zus ( hij wilde graag luchtjes voor in de douche en herenparfum etc...prachtig) Van ons heeft hij een tablet gekregen (waar gaat het nog over als je 7 wordt!?) Supertrots was tie..z'n eigen tablet..om 11.00 waren Maikel en Michelle er! Helemaal leuk vonden we het, was een tijd geleden! Blij dat we ze weer gezien hebben! Aangezien ze jammer genoeg 's middags op tijd weer weg moesten hebben we om 14.00 de bbq al aangedaan zodat ze toch nog even lekker konden eten voor ze weggingen..Peet van Sandra kwam ook nog even langs voor die moest gaan werken dus kon die ook nog een vorkje mee prikken! De bbq is niet meer uit geweest....iedereen die kwam kon meteen aanvallen, was echt een succes! Na de bbq met z'n allen voor Dennis gezongen en de heerlijke taarte van Joke gegeten.
Dennis & Arend zijn flink verwend met cadeaus/kaarten/geld maar vooral de aanwezigheid van iedereen! Supergezellig & mooi weer, alleen maar buiten gezeten tot 23.30 toen gingen Bettien & Erik als laatste naar huis....om dat tijdstip ging ik nog even een stukje rijden op Eriks electrische fiets....aangezien ik al een paar martini's op had ging het niet soepel, maar was wel effe grappig! Was een lange maar vooral TOPDAG! M'n wens is weer uitgekomen! Had wel veel last van m'n mond/tong maar genoeg energie! We hebben de boel..de boel gelaten en met z'n allen voldaan naar bed gegaan!

24 augustus een dagje aan zee

Vandaag is mijn mama voor de eerste keer sedert de communie van Amélie naar zee gekomen.

Ik nodigde ook tante Agnes en nonkel Marnix uit die ik nog altijd eens wou bedanken voor het vele werk op de communie. We hebben gezellig gepraat en getafeld en tussen de regendruppels door even op terras gezeten. Ik denk wel dat het haar deugd heeft gedaan. Hopelijk is de stap gezet voor de volgende keren...

With Dylan out of commission I've had to take on all his maker duties on top of my regularly scheduled shenanigans. That is, the sewing and stuffing part. Oh sure, I know how to sew. But Dylan is something special, able to turn the tiniest of limbs without so much as a curse word. I however am an entirely different kind of special when it comes to sewing, but I gotta say that I held my own. I may have required supervision, but see those goat horns up there? I did that! Not as gracefully (or G-rated) as Dylan might have, nor as quickly, but in the end they turned out every bit as good as his. Hooray! Today I get to start on the part that I feel much more comfortable with, the drawing and base-painting bit (no curse words required). I've also got 3 more Halloweeny sculpted pieces in the works. See that smiley punkinhead down there? He's gonna be a clown. That's right, I'm facing my fears! He may turn out to be the stuff that nightmares are made of, but I'm hoping we'll be friends.

And speaking of sculpted pieces, I just had to share this wonderful pic sent by Cornelius's new caretaker!

She assures me that he'll be joined shortly by his Halloween brethren, but for now he's enjoying hanging out with all the Sams. Isn't this a wonderful collection? I recognize several of the artists represented. Can't wait to see her Halloweeny stuff! And for any of you misguided souls out there thinking that it's too early to be thinking about Halloween, might I remind you that it's practically September which is practically October.

BBQ werk

Vandaag gezellig een bbq gehad met me collega's.Uiteraard was mijn "maatje" er ook,die net als ik zo graag wilt afvallen maar alles ook zooo lekker vind.

22 augustus

Vandaag zag mijn mama er veel beter uit dan het begin van de week. Zaterdag komen ze zelfs naar zee, ben blij dat ze de moed bij elkaar raapt om dit te doen.

Na de personeelsvergadering nog op zoek gegaan naar een toffe broek. Myrna bracht al eens een broek mee, waar ze al heel veel geniet van heeft gehad maar het is een driekwart broek dus was het wel nodig dat ze nog iets anders had, zeker naar de herfst toe.

In de Esprit winkel heb ik een toffe broek gevonden. Het is nog niet zo evident. Ze heeft het liefst één die vooraan met een touw aan te spannen is en gemakkelijk zit en vooral ook niet kreukt als ze in de zetel ligt. Deze week op zoek geweest in Oostende, vandaag in Deinze.

Verder niet veel te melden, alles gaat zijn gewone gangetje en volgende week de volgende chemo!!!

20 augustus: een pruik gaan kiezen....

Een drukke week, deze week... Vandaag zijn we in Kuurne bij pruiken Devos voor een pruik gaan kijken. http://www.pruikendevos.be/

Ik zag er echt tegen op maar ik moet zeggen dat het beter mee is gevallen dan ik had gedacht. Het is echt nog mooi en eigenlijk wel levensecht. Die dame deed dat echt goed en ze had enorm veel keus waardoor je onmiddellijk een keuze kan maken en niet om de haverklap terug moet.

Joseline is mee geweest, een schat van een vrouw, ik apprecieerde haar advies enorm. Ik kan me er nu iets meer bij voorstellen en ook Emiel en tante Denise vonden het goed.

Morgen 4e chemo ! Laatste Ac-kuur.

3 uur(!?) heeft het vandaag gekost, bezoekje ziekenhuis..alle 3 de kids waren erbij..vonden ze wel interessant om een keer mee te maken. Ze mochten zelf weten of ze bij de gesprekken wilde zijn met de verpleegkundige & oncoloog..dat wilden ze.

Oncoloog heft zelf aan de kinderen ook gevraagd hoe ze zich voelde omtrent heel deze toestand, vond ik erg netjes..hij gaf ook aan dat ze er alles aan doen om mij weer beter te maken, en dat ik daarom al die chemo's enzo moest doen...je zag aan de kinderen dat ze het fijn vonden om dat ook eens van een arts te horen, dus helemaal goed dat ze erbij waren!

Bloedwaardes waren goed & hij vond dat ik me er sterk doorheen "sloeg".
Hij gaf ook aan dat de coctails (Taxol/Herceptin) meestal minder bijwerkingen hebben dan deze kuur..dus we wachten af!
Aangezien de coctails kans kunnen geven op heftige allergieen word het de 1e keer apart gegeven..ene dag Taxol, dag rust, dan de Herceptin, zodat als ik ergens heftig op reageer ze weten welke van de 2 het is.
Daarna krijg ik ze 12 weken lang, elke week in 1x. Deze coctails starten over 3 weken...eerst morgen maar weer!

Laatste dagen heb ik wel 'tegen de avond' dat ik opeens weer moe word, heb ik nog niet eerder meegemaakt, normaal de dagen voor de nieuwe kuur had ik juist adhd gedrag..dus das wel een klein verschilletje met voorgaande kuren, maarja..niet ernstig..ook merk ik dat door de chemo m'n eierstokken einde oefening word..lichte opvliegers..weinig maandelijkse toestanden meer..(is wel positief)! Alleen de oogklachten nemen toe, het eerste uur 's ochtends kijk ik alleen maar door een "vlies" heen, beetje mistig zeg maar..door die kunsttranen/oogdruppels word het na een uur beter en trekt het weg..allemaal kleine dingetjes maar je ziet hoe die kuren maar door blijven werken in je lichaam..das wel bizar soms.
Sinds 3 dagen heb ik steken rondom de porto-cath..dus hopelijk zit alles nog goed daar, maarja..dat merken we morgen wel weer.

Afgelopen zaterdag zijn we trouwens nog in de waterbus/fast ferry geweest..Dennis mocht nog even bovenin bij de "kapitein" kijken hoe dat allemaal in z'n werk ging, helemaal leuk vond tie het..we zijn lekker wezen eten bij restaurant Prachtig aan de maas, daarna weer terug met de waterbus, helemaal leuk vond tie het..andere kids waren er helaas niet bij..die waren bij hun vader. Tante Lenie & ome Leen zijn nog even langs geweest met een mooi cadeau uit Duitsland, superlief!

Voor mij word dit een bijzondere week, waar ik een klein beetje tegenop ziet..heb het idee dat ik snel moet herstellen van de chemo morgen(dat leg ik mezelf op) want zaterdag houd m'n tante d'r verjaardag, maandag word Arend 50 en dinsdag word Dennis 7 & houden we de verjaardagen! Dus ik heb geen tijd voor moeheid en mond,-voetklachten etc...hahaha..komt niet uit deze aankomende week..pffffff..maarja komt goed! Zodra hun verjaardagen voorbij zijn krijg ik een beetje rust...heb voor alle 4 m'n doel gesteld dat ze leuke gezellige verjaardagen hebben zonder mijn gedoe.....de oudste 2 kids na m'n operaties, Dennis & Arend kort na mijn 4e chemokuur..als de 27e voorbij is en het is me gelukt zonder gezeik van die borstkankertoestanden..ben ik heeeeeel blij en heb in mijn ogen belangrijke doelen behaald! Maikel en Michelle komen ook..vind ik superleuk! Speciaal voor Dennissie gaan ze 4 uur lang reizen op 1 dag..superrrrrrrrr...! Dussssss ik moet snel herstellen, word veel prakkies en vitamine eten, toch maar proberen een beetje te rusten tussendoor en voorbereidingen treffen voor de verjaardagen....Druk, druk, druk, maarrrrr helemaal leuk!!

19 augustus op consultatie bij professor Ceelen

Vandaag werden we om negen uur bij professor Ceelen verwacht voor de opvolging van het stoma en haar gewicht. Aangezien de TPN nog maar pas gestart is, is die 1 kilo niet zo slecht. Hij wil haar over 6 weken terug zien en kijken hoe het evolueert. Misschien een kleine kans dat het stoma dan weg kan maar hoor aan zijn praten dat hij liever zou wachten tot na de chemo.

Na de consultatie hup naar K2 om haar bloed te laten nemen. Na de 10de dag doen ze dat om te zien hoe het gesteld is met haar witte en rode bloedcellen.
De rode bloedcellen waren goed maar de witte bloedcellen aan de lage kant. Opletten geblazen.

De assistente vermoedt dat ze nooit echt veel last zal hebben van haar chemo omdat het nu ook niet het geval is geweest,laat ons hopen.

Donderdag 29 augustus moet ze opnieuw... Ik kan er niet bij zijn want ik moet werken.

Morgen gaan we naar Kuurne om een pruik, ze heeft nog niets van haar haar verloren maar de dokter zei dat dit zeker nog zal volgen, dat is bij elke persoon anders. Elke dag is een gewonnen dag.

Heb het emotioneel zwaar momenteel. Ik ben heel moe en voel me zo machteloos.

Morgen is een nieuwe dag... met nieuwe moed!

Thanks to all who have sent get-wells to Dylan! He's still all wrapped up in bandages and such and is mighty restless having to just sort of sit around, but he's healing. We go back to the surgeon's in a week for a progress report. I'll let you know how it goes.

Vanmiddag lekker met de kids bij Deli France gegeten, m'n moeder een prakkie gebracht & even bij Gerrit wezen schoonmaken, we hebben een relaxte week achter de rug! Gister nog bij de Action geweest, weer volop ingeslagen!

Afgelopen week weinig klachten, alleen m'n smaak is nog anders en de krampen in voet/kuit gebeurd vaker..maarja..zijn ergere dingen!

As. maandag weer bloedonderzoek & gesprek met de oncoloog en daarna de oncologie-verpleegkundige om me alles uit te leggen voor de volgende stap..de TH-kuur..joepie..al veel geweldige verhalen gelezen erover...vanaf dag 1 toen ik hoorde dat ik borstkanker had lees ik continu alles erover..heeft me veel geholpen, nu ik dichtbij de " nieuwe kuur" sta...en me erin wil verdiepen, had ik beter niks kunnen lezen..pfffffff..bijna alleen maar negatief...ondragelijke zenuwpijnen/spierpijnen en slechte hartconditie..fantastisch! Gisteren eens een dagje niet naar Deinze geweest. Maar aan de telefoon hoorde ze er krachtig uit en heel positief. Haar gewicht gaat de goede kant uit dus die zorg is er toch niet meer! Ze had ook een relatief goede nacht gehad en de pomp van de TPN was niet in alarm gegaan.

Vanavond ga ik eens met mijn vader uit eten zodat hij er ook eens uit is. De boog kan niet altijd gespannen staan!!! Morgen mag hij mee met een buur naar een voetbalmatch kijken en dan gaan Amélie en ik in Deinze logeren zodat mijn mama niet te lang alleen is.

Controle

Het gaat heel erg goed met Kilian, maar toch zijn we iedere controle weer zenuwachtig. Naarmate de dag dat we naar Groningen moeten dichterbij komt, ga ik me steeds meer zorgen maken. Zijn zijn lippen niet erg bleek? Heeft hij bloedinkjes in zijn ogen? Hoe komt hij aan die blauwe plek op zijn knie? De onrust bouwt zich langzaam op en alle positieve gevoelens van de afgelopen weken beginnen te vervagen.

Als we eindelijk door de arts worden meegenomen naar de behandelkamer en ze lacht omdat Kilian voor ons uit rent en met een lenige sprong op de onderzoekstafel klimt, voel ik de spanning weer weg glijden. Als het slecht nieuws zou zijn, zou ze vast niet lachen.

Kilians bloed herstelt langzaam maar gestaag. Zijn trombo's (stolling) zijn nog steeds aan de lage kant, maar wel weer gestegen ten aanzien van de vorige keer. Als het zo door gaat, kunnen we bij de volgende controle een afspraak maken voor het verwijderen van de VAP. Weer een mijlpaal. De antibiotica is al gestopt, dus Kilian is nu helemaal medicijnvrij.

De grootste verandering vinden de mensen in het ziekenhuis echter Kilians uitstraling. Zij hadden hem sinds het begin van de vakantie niet meer gezien en verbazen zich over hoe lang (2 cm gegroeid!) hij wordt, dat zijn gezicht niet meer opgeblazen is en zijn postuur veel slanker, hoe makkelijk hij zich weer beweegt en hoe fit hij oogt. Zijn hele houding is anders, horen we van iedereen. Wat een verandering!

Volgende week begint school weer en Kilian heeft er zin in. Groep 8 is een spannend jaar en hij gaat naar een nieuwe klas met een nieuwe meester en juf, maar hij ziet het wel zitten en is van plan hard te werken aan het wegwerken van zijn laatste achterstanden. Bovendien verheugt hij zich enorm op de tablet-pilot, het blijft toch een jongen van 11!

Ook Dante kan niet wachten tot ze in groep 3 mag gaan beginnen. Haar kleutertijd is een emotioneel zware periode geweest en de laatste maanden hebben we dat erg aan haar kunnen merken. Gelukkig heeft ze in de vakantie even kunnen bijtanken en wil ze zichzelf nu flink gaan bewijzen in groep 3. Wij hebben er het volste vertrouwen in dat haar dat gaat lukken.

Work-Table Make-Over

Dylan turned my last worktable into a bed, so I needed a new one for my new workspace on The Cart. We had this red painted table already, but it totally didn't work with the Cart decor. So a make-over was in order! "How hard could it be?" I thought foolishly.

The first thing I did was coat it in a stripping agent, trying to get all the paint and varnish off so I could have a nice unfinished surface to repaint. I used Citristrip because it's all environmentally friendly and got rave reviews and whatnot. I must have done something wrong. I think I didn't put it on thick enough, or maybe it was too hot out, I don't know. Here's the table after putting on the first coat but before I scraped it off.

And here it is after scraping, and with a second coat on. What a mess!

The second coat definitely got more stuff off, but it was still just awful.

And now it had all this weird residue on it.

So we took a pressure washer to it! That got the residue off, and some more of the color, but it was still pretty awful.

So we resorted to good old-fashioned sanding. College Boy spent at least two hours with a power sander, and brought the table back to its unfinished state. It looked so pretty it was almost a shame to paint it, but I need a tough workhorse of a table and unfinished wood just wouldn't do the trick.

We debated staining and varnishing, but in the end I picked a light gray paint with a satin finish. It's a little boring, but The Cart is such a small space that we need any furnishings to sort of disappear or it's too much clutter for my already cluttered brain.

I made a backboard for it because it doesn't sit against a wall and I don't want any arty stuff to fall off the back when I push it out of my way.

Here it is in its new home on The Cart!
